We are pleased to announce that Laurent Drouhin, great grandson of the founder of venerable Burgundy producer Maison Joseph Drouhin will be visiting Honolulu on Thursday, February 28th. We will have a dinner featuring wines from Maison Joseph Drouhin and the Drouhin family’s winery in Oregon, Domaine Drouhin, with Laurent Drouhin.
Maison Joseph Drouhin is one of the most highly regarded producers in Burgundy. It has everything from every day wines from Cote Challonaise to the collector items from grand cru vineyards in the Cote de Nuits. - over 180 acres of vineyards in 90 different appellations in Burgundy. The recent vintages - 2014-2016 - have been particularly good. We will have some village level and premier cru wines from relatively new and good vintages at dinner.
Domaine Drouhin in Oregon and Roserock (Drouhin family’s newest winery in Oregon) are creating some of the best wines from Oregon at affordable prices. It is really an exciting time for these operations. 2014-2017 have been outstanding vintages in Oregon and we will have some of their newest offerings at dinner.
Both the wine Drouhin wines from Burgundy and Oregon have been favorites and bestsellers at VWC. Meet Laurent Drouhin and learn why these wines are so great.
